Update: ODA corrects ānominationā published in ODAās annual accounts and apologises for confusion
The Olympic Delivery Authority has admitted it blundered when claiming in its annual report that the Populous-designed Olympic stadium was on the shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize.
The ānominationā for Britainās highest architectural prize emerged in the ODAās annual report and accounts 2011/12 in a section about award achievements.
Under the 2012 awards section, the accounts state: āRIBA: London Awards (shortlisted for Stirling Prize) ā Olympic Stadiumā.
However, an ODA spokesman said: āAs a result of a production error, the Olympic Delivery Authorityās 2011-12 Annual Report wrongly stated that the Olympic Stadium has been short-listed for the 2012 RIBA Stirling Prize. This is not correct. However, the Olympic Stadium has been placed on a longlist, along with RIBA regional award winners. We apologise for any confusion.ā
In the report, the ODA also revealed that Ā£1.1bn of public money has been spent on Olympic venues since 2006 while a total of Ā£1.3bn has been spent on the Olympic village and Ā£1.8bn on site preparation and infrastructure.
