Sport England chief says Europa Centre defines the concept of βlegacy investmentsβ
Formation Architectsβ Β£4.9m Europa Centre sports centre has been officially opened in Bexley, south-east London.
It boasts a gym, weightlifting, boxing, dance and martial arts studios as well as social and medical facilities.
The 5,508mΒ² amenity was built by contractor ISG Jackson Ltd. for Barratt Homes.
Jennie Price, chief executive of Sport England, said the venue would allow local people to enjoy their sport in world-class facilities.
βThe Europa Centre encapsulates exaclty what weβre aiming to achieve through our legacy investrments,β she said.
The centre recieved some Β£1.24m of National Lottery funding, via Sport Englandβs Iconic Facilities fund.
