Price of average house in UK is 拢201,090 according to latest figures from DCLG
The average house in the UK now costs more than 拢200,000 according to figures from the Department for Communities and Local Government.
On average, houses cost 拢201,090 in December up from 拢199,238 the previous month.
The government鈥檚 official housing index also showed that house prices rose 9.9% in December up from 8.8% in November. In London house price inflation shot up to 11.8% from November鈥檚 9.9%.
The inflation rate in England rose from 7.8% in November to 8.9% in December; the inflation rate in Scotland rose from 13.4% to 15.2%; in Northern Ireland the rate rose from 37.2% to 39.9%. In Wales the rate fell from 10.2% to 9.1%.
