First half turnover is boosted by 拢410m following acquisition of Westbury Homes in January.

Housebuilder Persimmon has announced a turnover of 拢1.5bn for the first half of the year, compared to 拢1.09bn last year.

The group, which acquired housebuilder Westbury in January, announced the figures in a trading update this morning. It will publish its interim results for the six months to 30 June 2006 in August.

In its statement, Persimmon said anticipated its turnover for the full year to be in the region of 拢2.4bn, up from 拢1.78bn the previous year. Sales reservations are currently about 7% ahead of last year, with 8,000 legal completions already achieved.

The group margins have been diluted due to the integration of Westbury on January 17; however, Persimmon said in its trading update that it expects these to be improved over future months.
