New work reflects β€˜our growing reputation,’ practice says

Stanton Williams beat its revenue target last year with the firm increasing turnover to Β£7m.

The former Stirling Prize winner had set itself an income target of Β£6m but hiked its revenues by 18% to exceed the figure by Β£1 million in the year to September 2014.

Pre-tax profits slipped to Β£697,000 from Β£872,000 but the firm said it was now growing its business with new work, which it said, was β€œparticularly strong, having received a majority of our work through invitation, a reflection of the growing reputation of the practice”. It said the majority of its projects were in the Β£20 - Β£60m price bracket.

It added: β€œThe practice is pleased to have achieved or bettered nearly all of our key performance targets.”

The number of staff at the practice, which is working on a revamp of the Royal Opera House (pictured), jumped from 78 to 95 during the period while the salary of the highest paid director, who is not named, was up Β£10,000 to Β£133,589. The firm’s wage bill bust the Β£1 million mark, rising from Β£914,000 to Β£1.1m.
